Donna interviews Dr. Odell Glenn on KMOJ for 27 minutes and 25 seconds on the "It's Your Health Radio Interview" segment. Donna was the baby sister and didn't do much caregiving but was a big support to her sister who took care of her mom who had dementia.  The sister had a full-time job, children of her own but did the work.  Donna has always looked up to caregivers.  She later became a full-time caregiver to her daughter as a single parent.  She learned how to say "yes" to help.

Donna interviews the author, Dr. Odell Glenn of his book entitled "Caregiving-The Inspirational Manual"  Dr. Glenn gives a synopsis of how he took on the role of a caregiver. He was in Hawaii at a conference when his sister passed away from a phone call from his dad.  Simulatenaouly his dad was experiencing memory loss.  Things obviously were forced to be put on hold directly after ministering at his sister's funeral.  Juggling all of these responsibilities at the same time was indeed a challenge.  It was not quite what he had in mind at that stage of his life but looking back 10 years now, it was worth it all.  A lot of praying and a lot of action took place.

It's a worthwhile journey but boundaries must be taken into account.  Reaching out to communities, local churches, counseling, and support groups to stay balanced is crucial.  Overall health is crucial to sustaining the journey. Starting a home-based business is a viable option for caregivers because there are times when you cannot work due to responsibilities inside a home.  Take risks and be creative. Workaround obstacles.  During this interview, he defends his Ph.D. the next week.
